First day at her new home. Our darling Purl is here at last. We are very excited. 

Well, we finally got our new kitten. Her name is Purl and she is 8 weeks old. She is soooo cute. The kids and parents are all fighting over her.

Finally finished my Kiri shawl. Done in "Alpaca Cloud" from Knitpicks using a 3.25mm needle. I did 18 repeats. 

Homeschooling

Well my blog is called Knittinghomeschoolmom. So far it has been mostly knitting. Well, here comes the homeschooling. A large part of my curriculum arrived today so I thought this was a good opportunity to take a photo. They took over the entire livingroom. Do we ever have our hands full this year. We are all looking forward to the comming year. Even my 4 yr old wants to start so we will be doing little bits with him.
We will also be accessing the library quite a bit.
Needless to say, my knitting time will deminish quite a bit while I am teaching. I will try to keep up.(g)

Feather and fan shawl from GOL

Well I have finished this never ending shawl. By the end there were about 2000 stitches per round. Took me about an hour per round. I thought this would be a bigger shawl but it turned out quite small. Too small for me so I am giving it away to a very deserving friend.
The blocking was a pain due to the edging. Each little loop needed to be pinned out.
You can see the colour change when I changed skeins {the joy of hand painted}. I alternated the skeins for a while to ease the transition. I think it looks pretty cool this way. Let's say I did it on purpose.
