Carol in Oz, lovely work colette.have you tried doing "Hap Shawls" its scotish for half a shawl,they go to the middle of the back, you cast on the same amount of stitches as with an ordinary shawl, decrease rapidly,which give you long ends which comes over your shoulders down to your waist, very Victorian.
